Glossybox: The April Edition.
The April edition is all about natural beauty. With spring in the air, we can't continue to hide under our duvets any more, and we need to start grooming to look our very best. All the products featured in any of the April editions are strictly 'green', ethical goodies. Glossybox don't do things by half measures, and this shows with their beautiful, yet biodegradable, box. After taking the lid off, unwrapping the eco-friendly ribbon and tearing apart the recyclable paper, I rummage through the cardboard confetti to find my long-awaited treats. I am not disappointed. Time to embrace the eco-warrior inside me.

Glossybox: The Harrods Edition
I received my first Glossybox in the post last week, and I was greeted with a beautiful, grand white box with the word Harrods splashed across it, and the inside wrapping was just as sweet (pictured). For £10, Glossybox sends five samples of beauty products, usually one full size, from high-end brands. After signing up to the service you fill in a 'beauty-profile' where you choose options to customise the products you receive e.g. skin type, hair colour, what kind of perfumes you prefer. What I like about Glossybox is that there no kind of contract, you simply pay if you want a box per month.

Poll analysis: The Roaring 20s and the Grungey 90s are back!
Thanks so much to everyone who voted in my poll, 'Which Era is your Favourite for Fashion?' The 1920s and the 1990s stormed ahead of the poll with 19% of the votes each, closely followed by the 1950s and 2000-Present with 12%.
After scrutinizing the trends shown throughout the fashion month, I found the 1920s and 1990s has been echoed on the catwalks across the various fashion weeks earlier this month.

Are wet look leggings the worst item of clothing to exist, ever?
Have you ever wanted to look like baby seal fresh out of the water? Do you wish to be able to shoot down a toboggan run without a toboggan? Is exposing every crevice of your body an aspiration?
If you answered yes to any of these, go out and purchase a pair of 'wet look' leggings.
These ghastly leg holders have taken ahold of the public, and the polyester-gross-mix don't appear to be leaving our streets anytime soon. WAG's wear them, Rihanna loves them, even Kate Moss has been spotted donning a pair. However, I have not been swept away by the wet-look current in any form, but specifically the leggings, unlike the members of this group have: The Official Wet look/pvc Leggings Appreciation group!

Q&A with Emma Zentner from Boom Nails.
Nail art's popularity is continually rising. It’s been seen on the catwalks, illustrated by Marc Jacobs, and Nicole Sherzinger is the amongst the latest celebrity to announce the launch of her ‘nail cover’ line.
The origins of nail fashion is ambiguous, but SalonGeek is reports that it dates back to 3000 B.C, when the Chinese applied a type of enamel which would turn the natural nail to a pink/red colour. The Zhou Dynasty (circa 600 B.C.) saw aristocrats embellish their finger with bejewelled nail guards (the ancient vajazzle) as an indication of prosperity and affluence. In the year 2012, the nail art trend consists of leopard print, diamantes, nail foils, and marbling effects, to name a few.
As Doris Lessing said: “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.” And that is exactly what Emma Zentner, owner and creator of Boom Nails has done. Emma, 23, is from Kensal Rise and was in her second year of university when the passion took a hold of her life. And so the story unravels…

NEWGEN and Topshop celebrate their 10th Anniversary collaboration.
As London Fashion Week approaches, designers, buyers, and style lovers continue to tremble in their platforms. To add to the anticipation, Topshop is unveiling a new campaign, producing a collection of limited edition t-shirts to celebrate its 10 years of sponsoring the British Fashion Council’s New Generation (NEWGEN) Scheme. The proceeds from the t-shirts will go to the charity Centrepoint, which helps the young homeless.
NEWGEN was created in 1993 by the British Fashion Council, and has been sponsored by Topshop since 2001. Subsequently the organisation has showcased and supported a myriad of international designers to the summit of the fashion world. The scheme offers financial support towards show costs and gives designers the opportunity to showcase their collections on the BFC Catwalk Show Space.
