aka Mos Def, reciting some of Muhammad Ali’s speeches, as a tribute to ‘The

Marc Jacobs, American fashion designer and creative director of Louis Vuitton, has provided a preliminary glimpse at his Spring/Summer 2013 collection as part of Milan Fashion Week. Following the success and reputation of Adidas Originals x Jeremy Scott's first collection together, their second collaboration did not disappoint in terms of stuffed animals and epileptic levels of flashing colours. They also enlisted the help of director Nabil Elderkin, who has worked along side so many massive names, including Frank Ocean, Bon Iver and Kanye West. Elderkin created a video lookbook for the collection featuring pink-haired model Charlotte Free.<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj886OEQlQJErDNWyFpKWqfCrVqocxIeFTR01_vAR8HYBYMPV08Zs9V-3x91gPXJaJLIKr-1h9kJZ9k1V8-l9Bth44QlTJ5gSiBqqLHZW3l6jYbIx0m_TwzRUQ1CzEkw0aCA7Csi3CuCGeJ/s1600/IMG_1782%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj886OEQlQJErDNWyFpKWqfCrVqocxIeFTR01_vAR8HYBYMPV08Zs9V-3x91gPXJaJLIKr-1h9kJZ9k1V8-l9Bth44QlTJ5gSiBqqLHZW3l6jYbIx0m_TwzRUQ1CzEkw0aCA7Csi3CuCGeJ/s320/IMG_1782%5B1%5D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I've seen this design done by loads of nail artists recently, so I thought I'd give it a feeble attempt. This is my first try, but I will be doing it again as its so versatile you can do it with pretty much any two nail varnishes.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
Firstly I applied two coats of Barry M in Blueberry:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwqzDWGykvtnCYrw7cGWU0zJI_NS86kcBD-4kyggBnTui2LxoOMramJG5e_55WpsdFhV5dVnS4yVzTxRMk0GHnuBKHKBA8g4CN7RxSzg6tOLf-hY2kOjZJBGHKtFi_lVqNxRHGDj5iNNs6/s1600/IMG_1786%5B1%5D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwqzDWGykvtnCYrw7cGWU0zJI_NS86kcBD-4kyggBnTui2LxoOMramJG5e_55WpsdFhV5dVnS4yVzTxRMk0GHnuBKHKBA8g4CN7RxSzg6tOLf-hY2kOjZJBGHKtFi_lVqNxRHGDj5iNNs6/s320/IMG_1786%5B1%5D.JPG" width="239" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJhtZVH-tT_211MXMPex2r7lEWOBltNeA0AIy14DI4idZA00IyC7dbaRIlVs8f3U_B3oDAWchDZsuRvL1PtsZFx2hGjCzioDFsnxVVHKvofC1FU1s3SM02a2Psp2cZajAbq4UdFY-HTSXL/s1600/IMG_1760.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJhtZVH-tT_211MXMPex2r7lEWOBltNeA0AIy14DI4idZA00IyC7dbaRIlVs8f3U_B3oDAWchDZsuRvL1PtsZFx2hGjCzioDFsnxVVHKvofC1FU1s3SM02a2Psp2cZajAbq4UdFY-HTSXL/s320/IMG_1760.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
Secondly I dotted my Barry M Limited Edition 203, which is a really lovely shade of mauve:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBEXd7_vNBpOTHOw28PB7wRZ-leOi7SL-ZlaguUcu2gghU0Jdrd0u6smSE3hLwk-4ZpF4yF26Xsn217dyBQ4lX9n6p8srLKbRxBNJnC4YHAksTxhJCpB4ZzB9y_Pvppc6MaxKJWxkJV_-x/s1600/IMG_1785.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBEXd7_vNBpOTHOw28PB7wRZ-leOi7SL-ZlaguUcu2gghU0Jdrd0u6smSE3hLwk-4ZpF4yF26Xsn217dyBQ4lX9n6p8srLKbRxBNJnC4YHAksTxhJCpB4ZzB9y_Pvppc6MaxKJWxkJV_-x/s320/IMG_1785.JPG" width="239" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTmx79LsZpO5ZchxjTVQ9pL78u032hGGaebf3sAywZ57dnacaWO__1OfjSqTomMSJKVRQAL7n1bSBPhK24tuYzd5wv5kZjqvy95ZSEbAs9jahe3Y2s6DSn8YNC45_oh-f4xvmLZdlrgRSF/s1600/IMG_1762.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTmx79LsZpO5ZchxjTVQ9pL78u032hGGaebf3sAywZ57dnacaWO__1OfjSqTomMSJKVRQAL7n1bSBPhK24tuYzd5wv5kZjqvy95ZSEbAs9jahe3Y2s6DSn8YNC45_oh-f4xvmLZdlrgRSF/s320/IMG_1762.JPG" width="239" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now is the step I found slighty tricky on my right hand, seeing as I'm right-handed. I used a really cheap, simple black nail art brush made by Janet, from <a href="http://www.katyscosmetics.co.uk/ecommerce/search/Janet-Nail-Art-Black.aspx">katyscosmetics.co.uk</a> only £1.19! To do this step, it's easiest to just try and outline the dots, but slightly fragmented. I read on another leopard print tutorial it's good to think of outlining a big 'C' on one side of the dot, and a small 'c' on the other, so whatever works for you really. To finish just give a light top coat, I used Barry M's a all-in-one, and voila:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj886OEQlQJErDNWyFpKWqfCrVqocxIeFTR01_vAR8HYBYMPV08Zs9V-3x91gPXJaJLIKr-1h9kJZ9k1V8-l9Bth44QlTJ5gSiBqqLHZW3l6jYbIx0m_TwzRUQ1CzEkw0aCA7Csi3CuCGeJ/s1600/IMG_1782%255B1%255D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj886OEQlQJErDNWyFpKWqfCrVqocxIeFTR01_vAR8HYBYMPV08Zs9V-3x91gPXJaJLIKr-1h9kJZ9k1V8-l9Bth44QlTJ5gSiBqqLHZW3l6jYbIx0m_TwzRUQ1CzEkw0aCA7Csi3CuCGeJ/s320/IMG_1782%255B1%255D.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Happy Painting! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
p.s. A good tip: If you don't own a nail art pen or brush, then use liquid eye-liner. It's almost a better product to use, as any mistakes can be wiped of gently with a make-up wipe or tissue, without removing the rest of the paint.</div>Bethan Reeshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10160086297478656047noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9208068739602227990.post-29156406778551083452012-05-03T13:25:00.001-07:002012-05-03T13:49:15.926-07:00Anna Dello Russo to design for H&M.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
H&M announced this morning that Italian style legend Anna Dello Russo, creative consultant at Vogue Japan, would be joining their team as their new accessories designer. She's known for her outlandish style, and has been seen donning a certain "egg" fascinator at last year's Met Ball. Anna, or ADR as she's also known, said about the range: "As a stylist I know accessorization is essential: it is the personal touch to any outfit. With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day."<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
The collection, which is said to be released on 4th October 2012, will include lashings of golds and aquas, platform shoes, and embellished sunglasses. It's safe to say with ADR involved, these pieces won't go unnoticed on the shelves, although I'm not sure how high-street-friendly a breakfast themed head piece would be.<br />

<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a> I created this look starting with a base coat from Barry M, which triples up as nail hardener and topcoat. Secondly two coats of O.P.I's Russian Navy, one may be enough, but the second adds a real richness of blue. Finish this off with a thin coat of NYC's Starry Silver Glitter (105). You don't have to add a top coat, but it does finish the look off.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Having eagerly waited a month, I was so pleased to receive my second Glossybox in the post. If you don't know what 'Glossybox' is, I explained it all <a href="http://theramboofrealtalk.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/glossybox-harrods-edition.html" target="_blank">here</a> previously.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidGPwa_0C-cZr3MqIEoCVU5gRloyaLE3qPwX8DVK577FpucLIzkjeRz07QK5dHVu4Lus62m-VJLhQPejiDoFib9QXgC6rHgh8leA7EK_1iyyY3EaXut1rkA8ENf-lXTDMfRXI8AGPOQ9GK/s1600/IMG_1597.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEidGPwa_0C-cZr3MqIEoCVU5gRloyaLE3qPwX8DVK577FpucLIzkjeRz07QK5dHVu4Lus62m-VJLhQPejiDoFib9QXgC6rHgh8leA7EK_1iyyY3EaXut1rkA8ENf-lXTDMfRXI8AGPOQ9GK/s320/IMG_1597.JPG" style="cursor: move;" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
The April edition is all about natural beauty. With spring in the air, we can't continue to hide under our duvets any more, and we need to start grooming to look our very best. All the products featured in any of the April editions are strictly 'green', ethical goodies. Glossybox don't do things by half measures, and this shows with their beautiful, yet biodegradable, box. After taking the lid off, unwrapping the eco-friendly ribbon and tearing apart the recyclable paper, I rummage through the cardboard confetti to find my long-awaited treats. I am not disappointed. Time to embrace the eco-warrior inside me.<br />

<i>Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum </i><br />
<i style="font-weight: bold;">by Caudalie </i>RRP £29/30ml</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Caudalie is an up-and-coming beauty brand from Paris, and as the one of the creators Mathilde Thomas claims, they provide "ultra effective and natural beauty products with refined, luxurious textures inspired by the vine". I'm not really sure what the vine bit is all about, as the colour isn't green, nor is the texture remotely vine-y. Regardless, this serum deeply hydrates the skin by intensely moisturising it, leaving the face and neck with a silky result. I'm not too much of a fan of buying skincare products that aren't called "cleanser", "toner" or "moisturiser". However, I applied this serum after my usual cleanse and tone routine, and following instructions, used this before moisturising. I found this product so hydrating, and my skin is naturally quite dry, I didn't need to apply my usual moisturiser after.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The serum is extremely light in texture, with an almost water-like feeling, and it sinks in to the skin within seconds, leaving behind no trace. I will definitely continue to use this product, and it's converted my 'posh-named' product ignorance. Caudalie is quite reasonable in price for a high-end, luxury AND eco-friendly range, and I personally think it's worth investing. Perhaps wait for your Birthday/Christmas, be cheeky and ask a family member to buy it for you.</div>

<i>Certified Organic Eyeliner in 08 Peacock Blue</i><br />
<i></i><b style="font-style: italic;">by Inika Cosmetics </b>RRP £11.75</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Australian cosmetics company Inika prides itself on using mineral pigments in its products<span style="background-color: white; color: #191919; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;">.</span>I don't tend to wear anything blue remotely near my eyes as it reminds me of seeing my mum's first wedding photos, and to me blue eye make-up resonates with the seventies and 'white russian' fuelled fun. However, despite the colour not being to my taste, the actual quality of the product is phenomenal. The liner glides on the lid so smoothly, is easily blended, and the colour stays vibrant for hours. I usually use liquid eyeliner, as I found most Kohl a little too soft, but I would like to try this eyeliner in a darker shade. For the price too, I think this is a really great product. </div>

Figs & Rouge create "100% Organic, 100% Pure, 100% Natural skincare products", and this was by far my favourite goodie found in the Glossybox this month. Free from petroleum, the balm is silky smooth, and the smell is insatiable. As the title suggests, it is made with rose oil, but the scent isn't overpowering: it's just right. The cute, vintage inspired tin fits perfectly in any pocket, or any handbag, and will not be leaving my sight any time soon. After reading the small text on the tin, it claims to be a multi-purpose balm, also for use on the face and body. Although, I think the dainty tin would be quickly empty if applied anywhere but the lips. Everything about this is gorgeous, and in a suitable price-range.</div>

<i>Coconut, Indian Jasmine & Aloe Vera body wash </i><br />
<i style="font-weight: bold;">by Ayuuri Natural </i>RRP £4.95/235g</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My bath, is my temple. I go to my bath as a little visit to paradise once a day. Therefore the products in my bathroom are crucially important to me. Coincidentally, my bathroom is currently filled with all things coconutty, so I was really excited to try this body wash.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The Ayuuri Natural skincare range is made from fruit, plant, and flower extracts which have been derived from India, where they were used to amplify the skin's natural beauty. The body wash contains coconut which is deeply moisturising, rich with nutrients, and protects the skin. The aloe vera cools, clams and soothes the skin, while the Indian Jasmine calms and soothes the mind (supposedly). The product lathers beautifully, and I only had to use a minimal amount. After the first use my skin felt noticeably softer, and although I'm a bit nutty for coconut at the moment, the smell wasn't particularly strong- but this worked in its favour as it made way for the other natural scents to come through and make for a real glorious bath time experience. </div>

<i>Perfume Oil </i><b style="font-style: italic;">by Kai </b>RRP £41/3.6ml</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Kai believes "beauty lies in the simplest and purest of things." This fragrance was created by Gaye Straza Rappaport, who wanted to capture and recreate the scents of her holidays in Hawaii. The perfume has become somewhat of a 'cult', named by Style Magazine in 2002, with a fan base including stars such as Charlize Theron and Julia Roberts. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The scent itself relays Kai's simplicity mantra, and encompasses notes of Lily, Jasmine, Gardenia and Tuberose. It releases the sweetness of the florals, while gripping on the delicacy of the recipe. It's a very pure, clean scent, and if you're in to that, I recommend it. I personally prefer more fruity scents, but this is gorgeous for a change. </div>

I received my first <a href="http://www.glossybox.co.uk/" target="_blank">Glossybox</a> in the post last week, and I was greeted with a beautiful, grand white box with the word Harrods splashed across it, and the inside wrapping was just as sweet (pictured). For £10, Glossybox sends five samples of beauty products, usually one full size, from high-end brands. After signing up to the service you fill in a 'beauty-profile' where you choose options to customise the products you receive e.g. skin type, hair colour, what kind of perfumes you prefer.What I like about Glossybox is that there no kind of contract, you simply pay if you want a box per month. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This was my favourite product out of the five samples, it really smells good enough to eat. The blood orange smell is energizing, and the white pepper adds a gentle spice, and was actually inspired by a cocktail the Bliss scent specialist had tried. As for the effects, it left my skin feeling silky soft and without any residue or sticky feeling. The body butter comes out quite thick, but rubs in well. </div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Georgia;"><span style="line-height: 20px;"><br />
</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Georgia;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">I was quite hesitant to use this as I didn't believe I'd see any results of 'lifting and toning', however using purely as a luxurious moisturiser I found it enjoyable. Although I have been applying to areas I wish were that little bit firmer, I haven't reaped any of the rewards yet but we shall see. A lovely product though, quite a heavy moisturiser and it sits on the skin for a while after applying, but if I was paying £39.50, I'd want to feel the cream there too. Only lightly fragranced by the lemon thyme, it smells beautiful but not overpowering at all. Perhaps this product is for the older-lady, but I still enjoyed using it purely to soften my skin.</span></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #1d1111; font-family: Times, Georgia;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">This is an intensive firming moisturiser with SPF 30, with bio-firming protein and a "complex of enzymes" which helps increase elasticity while reducing appearance of sagging skin. At £235, you have got to be desperate to get rid of the saggy skin, but I am lucky enough not to experience this yet. However still trying this product as a moisturiser, I hated it. Initially I thought it went on beautifully, very smooth, very thick. However I found after a couple of minutes it started to dry up and leave a residue on my face. Perhaps my sensitive skin wasn't right for this product and might be more suited to a normal or combination skin. But overall, lovely luxurious moisturiser, just not for me. </span></span></div>

<span style="color: #1d1111; font-family: Times, Georgia;"><span style="line-height: 20px;">Leighton Denny's nail varnishes already hold a very good reputation with me, but I didn't think this shade was particularly suited to myself, I usually like something a little brighter. However it's so smooth to apply, even one coat would be enough if you were in a rush. The colour is a glorified nude, with a tiny hint of lilac. Beautiful product, but I did give it to my mum. </span></span></div>

The 1920s and the 1990s stormed ahead of the poll with 19% of the votes each, closely followed by the 1950s and 2000-Present with 12%.<br />
<br />
After scrutinizing the trends shown throughout the fashion month, I found the 1920s and 1990s has been echoed on the catwalks across the various fashion weeks earlier this month.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Trotting along the catwalk at London fashion week last month, Mario Schwab teleported us back to the roaring '20s with an array of wide-brimmed and cloche hat <span class="Latn">à </span>la Boardwalk Empire. Continuing the trend, Ralph Lauren channeled the era through pastel colours and shimmering fabrics which conjures up dim-lit ballrooms and coupe champagne glasses filled to the brim with Moutard. Max Mara filled the stage with an atmosphere of Bauhaus rationalism, with military fabrics, and calf-lenght skirts -a much more severe take on the '20s than seen on Ralph Lauren.<br />
<br />
Moving swiftly on 70 years, the fun, yellow-smiley, grungey '90s graced our catwalk, most notably Jeremy Scott. We can always rely on Scott to provide a fun, childish take on fashion and he did not let us down at the New York A/W 2012-13 show. Predominantly neon furs, Bart Simpsons, and cosmic unicorns, he makes the younger generation feel nostalgic and filled with 'Care Bear' glee. Jonathan Saunders jumped on the '90s bandwagon and greeted us with grungey loose woven knits over girly spring colours, a slightly more mature approach to the era.<br />
<br />
So, my readers appear to be in touch, consciously or subconsciously, with the fashions appearing on the A/W 2012-13 catwalks. Keep on truckin'. <br />

Do you wish to be able to shoot down a toboggan run without a toboggan? Is exposing every crevice of your body an aspiration?<br />
<br />
If you answered yes to any of these, go out and purchase a pair of 'wet look' leggings.<br />
<br />
These ghastly leg holders have taken ahold of the public, and the polyester-gross-mix don't appear to be leaving our streets anytime soon. WAG's wear them, Rihanna loves them, even Kate Moss has been spotted donning a pair. However, I have not been swept away by the wet-look current in any form, but specifically the leggings, unlike the members of this group have:<a class="fcb" href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/52405098589/"> The Official Wet look/pvc Leggings Appreciation group! </a><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Upon researching 'wet-look leggings', I encountered several Flickr accounts, Facebook groups, and dark corners of the blogosphere, in which this item of clothing appear to be a fetish. The most disturbing, without wanting to name Flickr accounts, saw a man uploading pictures of his wife in compromising positions wearing PVC wet-look legging, for the whole world wide web to oggle at. So when thinking about purchasing these leggings, also think about your safety. There could be one of these wet-look fetish trolls lurking around the corner. <br />
<br />
Moving on to a slightly lighter note, the aesthetics. Unless you are of a 0% fat, 0% dimpled, 0% imperfect body, step away from the leggings. I am all for women being curvaceous and proud of their bodies, but these will never do you any favours. With the tacky material gripping on to every part of you it touches, there is no escape with them. If you insist on involving yourself in this shiny trend, please purchase leather trousers instead. They are much more forgiving, much classier, and just much less seal-like.<br />
<br />
Another thing that frustrates me about the wet-look legging is the outfits popular magazines tell you to wear them with. "Just team it with a diamante embellished rock t-shirt, a blazer and a pair of your highest heels, and you're off to go." No. Don't do it. And you can tell the women who read these style guides religiously ( this extends to 'festival-wear' too.) If you're going to wear these ghastly leg stranglers, at least wear them with some originality.<br />

Lastly, and most importantly, if you are tempted to buy a pair of these leggings, repeat this to yourself -<br />

And so the story unravels…<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><br />

</div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,serif;"><b>How and why did you get started with the nail art?</b><o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,serif;">I ordered my first nail art pen nearly two years ago. I was in my second year of uni, living in Bristol. I'd seen some amazing nail art on blogs, and just really wanted to try it myself. It became a pretty big hobby from then on and it just sort of took over my life by accident!<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,serif;"><b>Your inspiration for your designs?</b><o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><br />
</div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><span style="font-family: Georgia,serif;">Everything. Life! There are some amazingly talented nail artists out there, but I try not to draw inspiration for my own designs based on what they have done. I used to want to try out stuff other people had done for practice, as well as the fact that I loved the designs - but I don't do that anymore! It's just better to have something that's completely original. I've done nail designs based on fabric, art, nature, clothes, jewellery, food, animals, flowers, and a load of other random stuff. I have a folder on my phone of stuff I've taken pictures of that I think would work well on nails.<o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0cm;"><br />

If I run out of Seche Vite before I've ordered another bottle, I'll use the Barry M topcoat - which is actually surprisingly good. To add to the anticipation, Topshop is unveiling a new campaign, producing a collection of limited edition t-shirts to celebrate its 10 years of sponsoring the British Fashion Council’s New Generation (NEWGEN) Scheme. The proceeds from the t-shirts will go to the charity Centrepoint, which helps the young homeless.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div></div><div class="MsoNormal"></div><div class="MsoNormal"><o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">NEWGEN was created in 1993 by the British Fashion Council, and has been sponsored by Topshop since 2001. Subsequently the organisation has showcased and supported a myriad of international designers to the summit of the fashion world. The scheme offers financial support towards show costs and gives designers the opportunity to showcase their collections on the BFC Catwalk Show Space.<o:p></o:p></div></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
<a name='more'></a></div></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">The designers contributing to the Topshop T-Shirt project, whose success has been arguably triggered by NEWGEN, include Christopher Kane, Richard Nicoll, Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, Marios Schwab, and J.W. Anderson.<o:p></o:p></div></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;"><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">The limited edition tees will be sold during London Fashion week, available in-store, online, and at the Topshop pop-up shop located in Somerset House (February 17-21). So if you are a dedicated follower of fashion, grab yourself one of these t-shirts, although I can’t guarantee you won’t be attacked by Lanvin covered elbows, and used as a human barge pole. As well as being a ‘must-have’ and an affordable way to possess a gemstone of designer wear. The t-shirts embody the identifiable <o:p></o:p>signature details of each designer; Christopher Kane with its metallic disks, Erdem with delicate print patterning. The proceeds also go to charity, simply another fantastic reason to buy one of these iconic t-shirts.<br />

However, many other fashion legends have collaborated with high-street stores and have been phenomenally successful. For example Christopher Kane for Topshop flew off the rails. <o:p></o:p></span></div><div style="margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; margin-left: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-top: 0cm; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="background-color: #f3f3f3;">Amongst the range are my two favourite items; <span class="apple-style-span"> the two cropped, studded and padded biker jackets in soft leather, priced at £149.99 and £179.99, which in fairness for a leather jacket, is acceptable, and for a Versace leather jacket, is heavenly. A nice addition to the range is the menswear, this is a rarity for high-street collaborations. I am a massive fan of the Miami meets baseball jackets, and their fluorescent tailoring acts as a beacon of light amongst this bleak November weather. </span></span><o:p></o:p></div><br />

</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">Welcomed by an exclusive, dark stairwell, surrounded by floating flower candles, it is hard to feel as if this you’re in a run-of-the-mill Soho bar. Descending downstairs, waving the early evening sunshine farewell, your vision is forced to adjust. Zenna uses very dim lighting, but also the décor itself leaves your eyes scanning the room endlessly unearthing more private alcoves, glass tiles and silver surfaces. We arrived around 5pm, and the bar was remotely quiet, however this worked to our advantage, and we were able to be advised by the conversant barman working in front of a very well stocked bar. Although the cocktail list offered a variety of tastes, with the plethora of stock from Saffron Gin to Peach puree, the barman was very happy to accommodate any cravings. <o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"><br />
</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"><br />
</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">To quench the journey’s thirst, I was suggested a ‘Garden Martini’. On the cocktail list it pronounces itself as “very refreshing,” and that it was. Comprising Gin, mint, lime, apple, elderflower cordial and apple juice, decorated with a slice of cucumber, the martini was not only aesthetically pleasing, but invigorating for my taste buds. I highly recommend their “House Nectar”, of which the ingredients are kept top secret, perhaps with the ambiguity adding to the taste, with the barman allowing me to guess the ingredients, and perhaps giving away a cheeky glimpse once I had hit the nail on the head. My initial interest in visiting Zenna was their Spicy Cocktails. To ease me in to the spice, I was proposed a “Bee Sting” which infused the flavours of honey vodka, peach liqueur and jalapenos. Garnished with a split red chilli on the martini glass, I was reminded about the peculiarity of this cocktail. Described as “lightly spiced”, my first sip told me otherwise. However after my second sip I appreciated that my palate just needed to adjust to the foreign sensation. <o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"><br />
</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"><br />
</span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;">My eyes were drawn to the paper, “The World’s Spiciest Cocktail,” The Illiana. It would be a crime to have left Zenna without attempting to try this tipple. Confronted with a waiver form, I had to declare that I was not inebriated, and that I was to try this cocktail at my own risk. I was confused as to the level of serious/quirkiness, I was filled with anticipation. The barman classically had to try his own concoction using a straw, and prior to this I’d never seen a man cry over a drink before. With only two drops of this mysterious chilli sauce, I was shocked to acknowledge that you could even feel the heat of the spice in the air. After experiencing the hysteria surrounding this cocktail, I wanted to prove I could play it cool. With my initial sip, and a “this isn’t too bad,” I soon had to face away from the barman and wipe the tears from my eyes. It was incredible and I challenge anyone to try it. The spice was then extinguished with a provided Gin Fizz, the perfect combination. You can tell the expertise of a barman when you can still taste the spiced rum and orange flavours through the intense seasoning. <o:p></o:p></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 115%;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;"><b>Jamie Woon</b>; Not only the voice of an angel, but the face of an angel too. A sexy angel, mind.</div><div style="text-align: left;">Mankind has finally done it. They've found the ultimate combination of ethnicities;</div><div style="text-align: left;">28 year-old Woon is the product of a Malaysian Chinese Father, and a Scottish Celtic Mother.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I first discovered Jamie Woon on SB.TV's youtube.com channel. He performed an acoustic version of his song "Lady Luck", and from that point onwards I knew it was love. Woon released his début album <i>Mirrorwriting</i> on the 18th April 2011, and provides listeners with dulcet tones surrounded by some incredible instrumentals.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Expectations of Jamie's album were that of "kinda like James Blake?", and I think he's done fantastically well to decipher and eradicate this assumption. The BRIT school as churned out yet another star, and the song 'Gravity' reflects Jamie's ability to sing a ballad and harmonise amongst a dark, diabolical track. It's a glorious thing, and the bewilderment is insatiable as the album evolves. I heavily recommend anyone to buy this album, and not to be put off by the comparisons made of The XX and similar artists. <i>Mirrorwriting</i> is evidence Jamie Woon is able to stand on his own two feet in the competitive battlefield of indie/soul/electronic singer/songwriters.<br />

The intimacy makes me feel nostalgic as if I was there with Keith Richards, having Tina Turner pour champagne in to my mouth. <br />
<object height="295" width="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TswOLHUQFPk?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TswOLHUQFPk?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="360" height="295"></embed></object><br />
<br />
She won the Critics Choice award at the Brit Awards 2011, much deserved after being a song writer for years - including being credited as a co-writer on the song we all love to hate Party In the USA by Miley Cyrus.<br />
<br />
She's a babe.<br />

<br />
<object height="295" width="480"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/iKKeBrwz0Dk?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/iKKeBrwz0Dk?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object><br />
<br />
She appears to have joined the edgy, gritty, independent girl bandwagon, much like Jessie J. However the difference between the two of them is vast. Simply, I love Jessie J and feel 'Spark' is a slightly more attractive, slightly more talented version of Kelly Osbourne.<br />
<br />
Maybe she's a grower?<br />
